The Pettibones have a houseful when Morgan is expelled from the military academy and Arthur Pettibone returns from medical school. Izzy, feeling excluded from Clive and Muriel Stacey’s new relationship as husband and wife, contacts her eccentric and seemingly affluent aunt, Lillian Hepworth.
Lillian’s arrival causes tension between Clive and his family, and poor Muriel is caught in the middle. Clive and Muriel realize that Izzy is no longer a child, when she announces her plans to move to Boston with Lillian.
You’re like an ocean breeze. Not that you smell like fish or anything. – Felix King
Felix begs Izzy not to leave. When the impoverished Lillian is confronted with creditor’s notices, she must tell Izzy the truth about her situation.
In the end, Izzy realizes that her father and Muriel love her and decides to stay in Avonlea. She also finally forgives Felix and gives him the kiss he so desperately wanted.
