Summary
Sara Stanley is forced to live with her deceased mother’s relatives, the King Family, in the charming town of Avonlea, Prince Edward Island. Her journey down the Road to Avonlea takes her and the entire King Family through tales of romance, fancy, tragedy and comedy. Sara’s story is intertwined with many unforgettable L.M. Montgomery characters from the cast of the original Anne of Green Gables mini-series.

Summary
While Olivia’s simple wedding plans get wildly out of hand once Hetty takes over and alienates everyone in the family; Sara trades places with a street-smart waif that passes as her double. She lands in serious danger when she runs away from home with Gus Pike. The volume ends with the death of Marilla Cuthbert, which ties this episode into the story between Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel and Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story.
